
WHERE QUALITY GOES IN BEFORE THE PRICE GOES ON
Swiss
Meat & Sausage Company, a third generation family owned and operated
business near Hermann, Mo., was honored for the sixth straight year with the
prestigious “Best of Show” award presented at the 25th annual
Wurstfest celebration held in Hermann March 27th and 28th. The honored “wurst” was a Rhine Valley Smoked
Pork Sausage. This is the same recipe
served each year at the Annual Fireman’s Breakfast. Attendees of the breakfast
seemed to agree with the Wurstfest judges!
Swiss took home honors for several of
their sausage products. These winners
included: Smoked Rhine Valley Pork
Sausage – Grand Champion, Smoked Bratwurst- Grand Champion, Headcheese and
Liver Sausage-both Grand Champion, Traditional Summer Sausage-Grand Champion,
Elk Summer Sausage-Grand Champion and Swiss Brand Bratwurst-Grand Champion.
Reserve Grand Champion was awarded to the
Blutwurst, while their Jerky, German Braunschweiger, and German Bologna
received Champion recognition.

included Dr. Don Nauman, Professor Emeritus University of Missouri, Columbia;
